Delicious Gouda Cheese Made by Nuns

Back in July, we read an article in the Washington Post about an order of Trappist (Cistercian) nuns that make cheese in Virginia. You can read this article here. We decided to give this as Christmas presents to our family. They were overwhelmed with orders, and of course, I didn’t get my order in right away. So, our cheese was delivered this week. It is wonderful! We had it for our dinner tonight. It was creamy, mild, and very tasty. I loved how the packaging said that we can be assured of their prayers. What a great gift!

My family loves to give food, or homemade items as Christmas gifts. Does your family do this? I’d love to hear your ideas for Christmas 2013. But after eating tonight’s cheese, we may send it again to the family.
