Last night we invited my partner teacher and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. G, over for dinner. We also invited Sr. M, the aide we share, over too. It was a blast! It was so nice to relax and visit with my 3rd grade team without the pressure ??of schoolwork hanging over our head. Our first day of school is August 23rd and the only school talk we had was a discussion on our 'Welcome Back' display we set up in the hallway for our new group of students. DS #1 got big laughs when he said "What, you think about what you put on your walls?" Why yes, we do, a lot! There is a lot of time spent on finding the perfect theme, the perfect welcoming statement.??
Now, back to our dinner. I made shish kabobs and my famous apple pie. I was pretty nervous about my apple pie because Mr. G is the cook in his family and he is known to make great pies. Since he's retired, he has lots of time to practice. But, it was a success! Everyone thought the pie was beautiful and tasted great.??
