Thanksgiving Menu 2010

Here is what we are serving at Barb in Nebraska’s home. 

  • Turkey- 18 pounds
  • stuffing- Granny’s recipe with sage sausage
  • butternut squash
  • sweet potatoes, baked with a brown sugar glaze
  • mashed potatoes
  • gravy
  • cranberry sauce- the jellied kind, from a can
  • grilled broccoli with lemon zest
  • grilled green beans with lemon oil
  • grilled orange glazed carrots
  • wheat rolls
  • baby carrots and black olives
  • pumpkin pie with Cool Whip
  • pecan pie

If you notice, we are heavy on the vegetable side of our menu. DH loves to grill and he has added 3 side dishes to our meal. Also, DS #2’s girl friend is a vegetarian and a tofurky just doesn’t sound that good. 

And of course, we are looking forward to the leftovers. DS #1 surprised us with a shipment of Martin’s potato rolls. We love cold turkey and stuffing sandwiches on these rolls.
